She’s Covered In Honey All Over And The Resulting Photos Are Simply Breathtaking

Have you ever seen those amber droplets with a fossilized mosquito preserved inside it? What if you replaced the mosquito with a human? Artist Blake Little gets as close as possible to creating that in his series called “Preservation”.

He covers models in thick honey – the models try to stay still but the honey runs over them, creating a beautiful effect.

Blake thought of the idea when he used honey as a prop in a different photo shoot. He noticed how the body looked incredibly beautiful and elegant.

Blake wanted to use people of different ages and body types. One of his aims to help us look past prejudice and discrimination – by transforming people into living, breathing sculptures, viewers can see each model as a beautiful human being captured in each photograph.

I love the effect of the honey on this man’s tattoos.

Blake experimented in some photos. Instead of making the honey appear as a preservative, he uses it to show how it’s a nutritious substance that promotes life. Out of the honey, a man is born.

He also uses his models to represent relationships and our dependence on each other, trying to find a place of comfort and safety in each other’s arms.

This series is one of the strongest pieces of art I’ve seen yet.
